DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake standard service activities including load bank and building load test proving, major and minor diesel servicing.
  • Carry out contract maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to Vertiv standards.
  • Installation of temporary generating plant.
  • Identify opportunities for extra works (SQD) and recommendations.
  • Remedial work to contract customers either planned repairs or as part of a call-out facility.
  • Be included on call-out rota for 24h response.
  • Completion and submission of relevant reports to service administration within a timely manner following all site activity.
  • Carry out project surveys and lead projects.
  • Installation and commissioning of generator and AMF control systems.
  • Provide technical support to Sales Managers on customer sites and in the back office.
  • Fault finding and rectification in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines in support of field engineering teams when required.
  • Servicing of LV switchgear.
  • Provide technical telephone support to field engineering teams when required.
  • Comply with all Company Health and Safety Requirements.
  • Ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of the International Trade Compliance Regulation is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company ITC certification program itself.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience within the generator standby power or related industry.
  • National Level 3 qualification in either an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Experience of Electrical and Mechanical fault finding and rectification.
  • Be competent at either intermediate electrical or mechanical works.
  • A good understanding of PLC and microprocessor systems.
  • A good understanding of IT.
  • Experience in servicing LV switchgear would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a field operations role.
  • Experience of fault finding and rectification.
