Hey, we are excited for you to apply! This is the 3rd year placement for students studying mechanical design or similar. Vertiv are seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Engineering Student to join our team at our plant in Burnfoot, Donegal. You will be in full time third level education where you must take a 1 year placement in industry. You will be rewarded with a great salary, excellent opportunities for development, and extensive support within the Busbar Product Management/R&D Department. You will also be part of the ongoing success of one of Ireland's leading engineering companies.
There will also be the opportunity to work over the summer at the end of Y2 to gain some experience in our Burnfoot plant.
RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the Department Head this position presents an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the Mechanical Design / Product Development design aspects of Busbar and contribute to product improvements of same. The main remit of the role will involve working with senior Mechanical Design engineers and the Busbar Product manager in the preparation of detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for Busbar and other support functions for this part of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS- Be enrolled in a third level Engineering course with a bias towards Mechanical Engineering
- An understanding of Engineering Design Principles.
- Working knowledge and experience with 3D modelling and 2D drafting of product designs.
- Experience with MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc
