The R&D Administrative Support role provides day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Research & Development Engineer and wider R&D engineering team. The position focuses on assisting with project setup, documentation, system updates, and general administrative tasks to help ensure R&D and product development activities run smoothly. This role is well suited to someone who is organised, detail-focused, and interested in working within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Training and guidance will be provided, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge over time.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the R&D Engineer on assigned projects and tasks.
- Assist with organising engineering documentation, drawings, and project files for easy reference.
- Support the setup of new parts within IFS (PDM), including basic data entry and part requisitions.
- Assist in preparing and formatting manufacturing and engineering documentation.
- Generate shipping requests for pallet deliveries to site, organise time slots for delivery & dispatch from factory on engineer's request.
- Maintain simple trackers for parts production, delivery, and site dispatch.
- Update trackers with the latest information provided by engineers or production teams.
- Assist with generating shipping requests and coordinating deliveries when requested.
- Archive closed project documentation in line with company procedures.
- Carry out general office and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and manage routine tasks independently.
- Computer competency essential.
- MS Office Suite.
- Oracle (desirable).
- Admin background.
Development Pathway:
This role offers a structured development opportunity for individuals interested in progressing into an R&D or Engineering career through close working relationships with R&D Engineers and exposure to product development activities. Progression may include movement into Junior R&D Engineer, depending on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.
