The Supplier Quality Engineer develops, evaluates, and improves the Vertiv product supplier base through Quality system and product process audits. You would be responsible for maintaining working relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest Quality possible of purchased components with a focus on continuous improvement. You would also establish Quality targets and goals to include Quality cost reduction, warranty reduction and overall supplier rating. This position will be based onsite in our Burnfoot, Ireland facility.
The role:
- Monitor and resolve supplier quality issues through effective control plans and sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive permanent resolution of supplier issues impacting Vertiv plants and customers.
- Lead supplier performance improvement across NPI, FAI, PPAP, and mass production.
- Own PPAP requirements and risk assessments for supplier-led changes.
- Lead problem-solving activities, including containment, root cause analysis, SCARs, and corrective actions.
- Develop 8D and supplier reports; communicate investigation outcomes internally and externally.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, Offering Management, and Plant Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Prepare clear, concise executive summaries for leadership.
- Conduct supplier on-site audits to assess QMS compliance and effectiveness.
- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through on-site audits and QMS scoring.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities through supplier process and quality improvements.
- Visit suppliers to review manufacturing processes and drive corrective actions.
- Provide monthly supplier performance reports and quality initiative updates to management.
- Support Vertiv manufacturing sites on supplier quality issues.
- Support execution and maintenance of an ISO 9001-certified QMS.
- Promote Vertiv quality standards, right-first-time mindset, and zero-defect culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
About you:
- 1-3 years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer role or related field.
- Experienced with problem solving tools and quality core tools (i.e. 8-D, A3, 5- Whys, DOE, SCAR, Fishbone, Pareto, Six Sigma, ISIR/FAI, PPAP).
- Can manage multiple tasks, based on priority, difficulty and severity.
- Background in applying statistical tools for process and product development and control (i.e. Gage R&R, Process Capability, Control Plans, SPC, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Knowledge of metal fabrication/machining/welding, electrical components, switchgear panel assembly, wiring looms.
- Process auditing experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

- Protective Equipment Required (safety shoes, eyewear, earplugs, gloves, etc. where required).
