We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused 360 Merlo Telehandler Driver to join our team at our Letterkenny facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a rotating Merlo telehandler to support fabrication, lifting, material handling, and site operations. This role requires strong awareness of health and safety procedures, excellent machine control skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider site team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a 360 rotating Merlo telehandler safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and site procedures.
  • Carry out lifting operations including placement of materials, equipment, and loads at height.
  • Support fabrication, construction, and logistics activities across the facility.
  • Conduct daily pre-use inspections and routine maintenance checks on the telehandler.
  • Accurately interpret load charts and ensure safe working loads are not exceeded.
  • Communicate clearly with slingers/signallers and site personnel during lifting operations.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping around work areas.
  • Report defects, near misses, or unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety, company, and site-specific regulations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience operating a 360 rotating telehandler (Merlo or equivalent).
  • Valid CSCS / CPCS / NPORS or equivalent telehandler certification.
  • Safe Pass certification (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of lifting operations and load management.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • High level of safety awareness and attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
  • Slinger/Signaller certification.
  • Experience working in fabrication, industrial, or heavy construction environments.
  • Familiarity with confined or busy site operations.
Working Conditions
  • Site-based role at our Letterkenny facility.
  • May involve outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Manual handling and extended periods of machine operation required.
