Are you an experienced Industrial Electrician looking for a hands-on role in a high-quality manufacturing environment where your technical skills are valued? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established operation, working on LV/MV switchgear and control panels in a structured, safety-focused environment. The role suits a skilled electrician who can work independently, support production and testing activities, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Assembling electrical switchgear and associated electromechanical equipment in line with engineering drawings and production timescales.
- Interpreting and working from electrical schematics, manuals, drawings, and specifications.
- Carrying out mechanical and electrical assembly of components for new and repeat products.
- Ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with quality requirements in the factory and at customer sites.
- Performing testing of panels, including current injection testing.
- Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance activities, site modifications, and inspections.
- Conducting thermal imaging inspections and complete associated reports.
- Identifying and reporting substandard, defective, or malfunctioning components.
- Selecting, measuring, and modifying components to ensure correct fit and function.
- Completing MTOs and order materials for allocated tasks (internal and site-based).
- Assembling prototype and development units in collaboration with supervisors and managers.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Adhering to all Company Policies, Quality Standards, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Working to deadlines and production targets.
- Supporting and mentoring team members where required.
- Demonstrating flexibility, including working overtime and supporting site-based activities as required.

Essential Skills, Qualifications/Experience:
- City & Guilds Electrical Qualification and completed Engineering Apprenticeship with AM2 (or equivalent).
- Time-served Electrician or Technician.
- Experience in electrical switchgear manufacture or similar industrial environment.
- Experience in panel wiring (PLCs, MCCs, control panels).
Desirable Skills, Qualifications/Experience:
- Current 18th Edition Certification.
- Mechanical knowledge.
- Field service or on-site installation experience.
- Familiarity with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
