As we continue to innovate, we're looking for a Graduate Product Development Engineer to join our R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to develop their technical skills while working on the design and development of next-generation busbar trunking systems.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers throughout the product development lifecycle, gaining hands-on experience in product design, prototyping, testing and launching new products that support some of the world's most demanding industries.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the design and development of new products from concept through to launch.
  • Create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Support prototype builds, testing and design validation activities.
  • Learn how to develop products that meet international standards such as IEC 61439 and UL857.
  • Work with manufacturing, sourcing, marketing and product management teams to bring new ideas to life.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve existing products through engineering change processes.
  • Contribute to product risk assessments (DFMEA) and design reviews.
  • Maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation using PLM systems.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and engineering best practices.

What we're looking for

We're interested in enthusiastic graduates who enjoy solving problems and want to build a career in product development.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks or similar (through university projects, internships or placements).
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

It would be great if you also have

  • Exposure through university projects, internships or placements to manufacturing or product development environments.
  • Sheet metal, plastics or mechanical assemblies.
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) or Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.
  • Data centre or power distribution technologies (not essential).
