The Plant Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that our Low Voltage Switchgear products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, experience in the manufacture and project quality, and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. This role is based onsite in our Campsie facility in Derry, Northern Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve quality control systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements for our Low Voltage Switchgear line of products.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, production, supplier quality, VOS, Switchgear global quality, and customer service, to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and monitor quality performance across the site.
- Analyze data and trends to identify root causes of quality issues and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address them.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Act as Quality Management Representative for Vertiv Campsie site.
- Support internal and external quality audits and certifications, including ISO and other relevant certifications.
- Investigate customer complaints and warranty claims, and work with the appropriate teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality management in the data center industry.
Qualifications:
- Minimum number of 8-10 years of experience in Quality + Manufacturing field.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Additional certifications related to quality management, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO 9001, are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify root causes of quality issues.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to the data centers industry.
