What is this role about?
Reporting to the relevant Production Managers the talented CNC Programmer will be responsible for translating engineering designs into efficient and accurate CNC machine programs.

What kind of work will you be doing?
Reporting to the relevant Production Managers the CNC Programmer will be responsible for translating engineering designs into efficient and accurate CNC machine programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, a deep understanding of machining processes, and the ability to optimize programs for maximum efficiency.
- Create and optimize CNC programs for punch, Press brake and bending machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, and specifications to develop accurate machining instructions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling, nesting, and production processes.
- Perform tooling and material setups for CNC machines.
- Conduct programming simulations and verify program correctness to minimize errors and optimize efficiency.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to machine operators and production personnel.
- Continuously monitor and improve CNC programming processes to enhance productivity and quality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Experience programming CNC punch machines, preferably with TRUMPF machinery.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including tooling selection and material handling.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
Essential Criteria
What experience / qualifications are essential for this role:
- Previous experience as a CNC Programmer.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and cutting.
- Knowledge of CNC machine operations, including milling, turning and multi-axis machining.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Desirable Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, / Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Level 3 NVQ – Mechanical Engineering
