As EMEA Whitespace System Lead, you will architect comprehensive data center infrastructure solutions, starting from IT stack requirements and designing the complete OT (Operational Technology) environment around them. Working with strategic IT vendors (Dell, Lenovo, Supermicro, WWT), NEO Cloud providers, and Hyperscalers, you will influence whitespace design for next-generation AI/HPC deployments across EMEA. This strategic technical leadership role serves as Vertiv's technical authority for whitespace solutions, whiteboarding innovative designs with customers, shaping industry standards, and driving market share growth in the AI/HPC segment.
What kind of work will you be doing?
- Strategic Customer & Partner Engagement
- Lead technical engagement and solution architecture with EMEA's strategic IT vendors, NEO Cloud providers, and Hyperscaler customers.
- Whiteboard and architect whitespace solutions with key customers, translating IT stack requirements into OT infrastructure designs.
- Co-develop integrated reference architectures with major IT players.
- Build strategic relationships to expand early-stage design influence.
- Represent Vertiv as technical expert at strategic EMEA industry events (e.g., OCP Summit) as speaker and panelist.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with regional Application Engineers for detailed equipment selection.
- Train and support regional IT Solutions Architects and AEs in system-level whitespace design.
- Collaborate on RFCs/RFOs and initiatives with Global IT Systems BU.
- Represent EMEA insights in governance forums, ensuring customer feedback drives product development.
- Define solution gaps and work with offering teams to launch new solutions.
- Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor offerings and emerging technologies.
- Drive innovation in high-density racks, cooling architectures, edge computing infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Systems Engineering.
- 10-15 years in Whitespace data center infrastructure design.
- Proven track record architecting whitespace solutions for 10MW+ deployments.
- AI/HPC infrastructure experience highly preferred.
Technical Expertise
- IT infrastructure understanding: server architectures, GPU clusters, networking, storage, workload requirements.
- OT Architecture Expertise.
- Racks and cabinets: selection, configuration, accessories, high-density requirements.
- Containment systems: hot/cold aisle, air management, raised floors.
- Cooling technologies: air-based and liquid cooling solutions.
- Power distribution: rPDU, DC shelves, busbar, branch circuits.
- Monitoring and controls: DCIM (Nlyte, Sunbird, Vertiv), BMS integration, automation.
- Integration protocols: BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, SNMP.
- Design tools: CAD (AutoCAD, Revit), BIM, CFD interpretation (6SigmaDCX, Future Facilities), Digital Twin platforms.
- Standards: EN50600, Uptime Institute Tier, CDCDP, ASHRAE, ISO 50001.

- Exceptional communication with ability to whiteboard solutions and engage all levels from engineers to C-suite.
- Proven ability to influence design decisions through technical authority.
- Commercial acumen with TCO/ROI analysis and competitive positioning.
- Experience in matrix organizations with global teams.
- Fluent English required; additional European language is a plus.
