Provide essential technical support, maintenance, and operational readiness for workshop facilities, equipment, and tools, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for users.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery and tools; arrange for external repairs when needed.
- Technical Support: Assist and advise users on equipment use, design principles, material selection, and safe practices, offering one-on-one or group guidance.
- Workshop Operations: Prepare and set up equipment for tests, manage tool maintenance systems, maintain cleanliness, and ensure high standards of workshop practice.
- Health & Safety: Enforce safety rules, report hazards, maintain risk assessments, and ensure compliance.
- Stock Management: Monitor and maintain levels of consumables, materials, and components, liaising with management for purchasing.
- Fabrication: Manufacture components, pipe assemblies and test pieces as required for projects or research. Use of workshop tools such as Tig welder, band saw, pneumatic pressure testers and other hand tools.
