Vertiv are recruiting for a Presales Thermal Application Engineer to join our UK & I team. The Presales Thermal Application Engineer will identify customer requirements & specifications. They will review RFQ, evaluate the best trade-off solution according to customer needs, budget, efficiency and project timeframes. The role involves working closely with Engineering and SFAs linked to thermal products.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of technically and price competitive cooling solutions working closely with colleagues and/or external partners when needed.
  • Provide support on hydronics, especially on projects where there's a coexistence of high density products together with chillers and other CW units.
  • Provide Sales with pre-sales technical support when building proposals, quotes and tenders.
  • Support Sales in technical meetings, aiming to become a reference point in EMEA, explaining the whole thermal chain, from servers to heat rejection/heat recovery.
  • Create and review application-based documentation (drawings, specifications, electrical layout, presentations) enabling AE colleagues and Sales to secure business.
  • Share ideas and detailed design proposals to Product Management and Engineering teams for product improvement/development.
  • Provide product and application-based training to the EMEA AE community and Sales.
  • Support WT activities and factory visits when needed.
  • Attend in-person meetings with clients when necessary supporting colleagues and Sales.
  • Ensure compliance with the International Trade Compliance Regulation as per the Company ITC certification program.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering background or equivalent education with proven field experience.
  • Professional experience within the Datacenter industry with focus on High Density applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Data Center High Density trends, applications and related thermal management complexities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier levels and related Thermal Management infrastructure design.
  • Fluent English written and verbal required.
  • Excellent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Customer/Sales orientation.
