Brief Job Description:
Apprentice UPS Customer Service Engineer
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified UPS Engineer.
Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:
A Vertiv UPS Customer Service Engineer works on all aspects of UPS and Emergency Lighting systems, their associated batteries, static transfer switches, and site monitoring equipment. You will be responsible for commissioning, maintaining, and repairing these systems whilst establishing, promoting, and maintaining Vertivβs reputation by building excellent rapport with our customers and stakeholders during all your professional interactions.
- Undertake and successfully complete the Vertiv training program
- Keep and update training records as required within the apprenticeship framework to achieve training targets
- Assist UPS Field Service/Battery Engineers/Technicians in the following service activities:
- Providing a Commissioning, Maintenance and Repair service on UPS equipment supplied or maintained by Vertiv
- Fault finding and rectification
- Carry out contract maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to required standards
- Identify opportunities for extra work and preventative recommendations
- Remedial work to contract customers either as planned work or as a call out facility
- Completion and submission of relevant reports to service administration within a timely manner following all site activity
Qualifications:
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
- To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and math\’s or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the program.

- Good mechanical aptitude and sense of ownership
- Good organisational skills
- Good ICT skills
- Good time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Clean valid driving license.
