What you will be doing:
- Run and take full ownership of your designated kitchen section, ensuring consistently high standards.
- Step up to support the Sous Chef in their absence, overseeing wider kitchen operations as needed.
- Contribute to menu development, specials and seasonal changes alongside the senior kitchen team.
- Mentor and develop CDPs, Commis - lead by example on the pass and on section.
- Assist with pastry production and dessert preparation as needed.
- Manage stock levels, supplier quality and waste reduction within your section.
- Ensure your section meets all food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Keep preparation ahead of service and maintain a clean, organised section throughout.
We are looking for someone who…
- Has a minimum of 2–3 years' experience as a CDP in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume professional kitchen.
- Can confidently run any section independently with minimal supervision.
- Has working knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation.
- Demonstrates leadership ability and a genuine interest in developing junior team members.
- Shows strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Has solid food safety knowledge (Level 2 Food Hygiene or above preferred).
- Communicates effectively in English, both spoken and written.
