The Opportunity
The Opportunity – We are seeking an ambitious Structural Technician to join the Manchester office. You will be working within a highly motivated team delivering an exciting range of civil and structural engineering schemes across sectors including education, healthcare, industrial & logistics, residential and regeneration.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing high-quality 2D and 3D structural engineering drawings and Revit models at all project stages.
- Assisting with the preparation of building structure drawings, ensuring accuracy and coordination with other disciplines.
- Supporting the team in adhering to BIM standards and project documentation requirements.
- Contributing to clash detection, model setup and general Revit project work.
- Collaborating effectively with engineers and other professionals on multiple live projects.
The Person
- Analytical, detail-oriented, reliable and enthusiastic.
- A confident team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Creative yet technical in approach, with a hands-on attitude to problem-solving.
- Strong interest in building design and structures, with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to bring along a small portfolio of drawings from previous projects at interview.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in the industry.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with knowledge of BIM principles (experience with Navisworks desirable).
- Competent in producing 3D models and Revit families, including from Point Cloud data.
- Good grounding in physics and mathematics, with strong problem-solving and 3D conceptual skills.
- Able to work effectively within a team and manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
