Structural Engineer – Liverpool
Vertical Recruitment are working closely with an award-winning an award-winning civil and structural engineering consultancy. They’ve been operating for over 40 years and have offices across the North. They have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join their Liverpool city centre office.
Ideally the candidate would have a minimum of two years’ UK experience of Structural design within residential and commercial buildings.
About the position – Each engineer has a number of projects and clients to manage at any one time, with a requirement to meet the needs and demands of our clients and business goals. Candidates must be able to demonstrate good fundamental knowledge and understanding within the application and principles of structural engineering design. Quality deliverables and client satisfaction are at the forefront of our everyday responsibilities as individuals to ensure conformance to our accredited processes and procedures as recognised within the industry. You will be expected to support our Principal engineers and Directors across the group.
The role will involve mentoring less experienced members of the team to develop their skills and your own skills. There is an opportunity based at their Liverpool office, however each office works closely together assisting on projects where required.
About the candidate – You must be self-motivated, driven by a challenge whilst continually developing new skills and sharing experience with the team.
Essential Experience required
- Minimum three years’ experience within Structural design including steelwork, reinforced concrete and masonry construction to Euro Code standard
- Proficient use of AutoCAD, Masterseries and TEDDS design software
- Producing detailed structural calculations and sketches
- Preparation of construction drawings and specifications
- Commercial awareness of costing, budgets and quotations
- Report writing
- Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings
Desirable Experience
- Understanding of STAAD.Pro, SCIA and Revit
- Project management and leadership skills
- Willing to work towards or nearing Chartered Status
