A long-established and privately owned property and construction group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their in-house construction team. With a significant pipeline of industrial and commercial developments across the UK, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business with strong financial backing, long-term vision, and a clear route for career progression.
You will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple new-build projects, supporting the delivery team through the full project lifecycle, and contributing to strategic commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects from inception to final account
- Prepare and submit valuations in line with contract terms and ensure timely payments
- Produce accurate monthly CVRs and forecasts
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages, ensuring value for money and clarity of scope
- Administer main and subcontractor contracts, including the preparation of contractual notices
- Assess and agree variations, ensuring entitlement is maximised
- Work collaboratively with the delivery team, providing cost advice and assessing impact of site progress on budgets
- Finalise client and subcontractor accounts efficiently and maintain strong working relationships
- UK-wide portfolio of industrial and commercial developments
- Clear 10-year pipeline of projects already secured
- In-house plant fleet valued over £15 million
- Self-delivery of core packages (e.g. groundworks, steel, cladding)
- Collaborative and stable working environment
- Strong emphasis on internal development and promotion
- Experience in industrial or groundworks projects (preferred but not essential)
- Good working knowledge of JCT contracts
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
