The Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a hands-on technical and design delivery role across a wide range of projects. Working closely with the Associate and Director levels, you will take ownership of design output, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered on time and to budget. You will also have client-facing responsibilities, supporting project leads during meetings and helping to nurture client relationships through technical excellence and collaborative working.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality mechanical building services design across a range of sectors, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the mechanical design process from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
- Work closely with clients, architects, and other design teams to develop integrated solutions.
- Attend client meetings and site visits to monitor progress and provide technical input.
- Support project resource planning and delivery scheduling.
- Actively contribute to design reviews, peer reviews, and quality assurance processes.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team.
- Promote best practice, continuous improvement, and innovation across all projects.
Requirements:
- Strong technical background in Mechanical Building Services design, construction, and procurement.
- Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a relevant professional body.
- Proven experience delivering mechanical building services designs from concept to completion.
- Good client-facing and communication skills, able to represent the company professionally in meetings and discussions.
- Solid understanding of BIM processes within project environments.
- Familiarity with risk management during design and construction phases.
