Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Nottingham

The Role – As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex and innovative projects across multiple sectors, including residential, education, commercial, MoJ, and laboratory sectors. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, lead projects, and contribute to the continued success of the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical design projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and other disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Engage with clients, prepare fee proposals, and represent the company in meetings.
• Oversee project coordination, manage workload, and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Design electrical services across all RIBA stages in compliance with the Building Safety Act and associated Building Gateways.
• Conduct site visits, provide technical expertise, and ensure high-quality standards.
• Work on a diverse range of projects, from small to medium-sized schemes to large-scale developments.

Requirements

To thrive in this role, you should have a minimum of five years\’ experience in electrical design within the building services sector. You will be confident in delivering electrical designs across multiple project stages, managing client relationships, and leading project teams.

Key Skills and Experience

• Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong technical expertise in electrical design across various project types.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
• Experience with design software such as RELUX, Electrical OM (not essential), REVIT (MagiCAD familiarity is a plus).
• A solid understanding of project management, including coordination with internal teams and clients.
• Passion for mentoring and leadership, supporting junior engineers in their development.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
