We are seeking a dedicated M&E Site Supervisor to oversee the reinstatement of a fire-damaged plant in Northwich, Cheshire. The project involves rebuilding three production lines within the main building that were affected by a recent fire incident. Contract duration is approximately 10 – 12 months.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordination and act as the liaison between site trades and site activities as requested by the Lead Project Manager, to enable an effective delivery of the works associated with Plant 1 or 2.
- Assist the Lead Project Manager to develop the Programme and activities along with plant and material identification and procurement once authorised.
- Act as the Site representative and interface with the Lead Project Manager and contractor(s) for all day-to-day construction site activities.
- Assist the Contractor’s Representative[s] and the Lead Project Manager as directed; Ensure the smooth flow of information between all members of the team and other interested parties.
- Support the Lead Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor in controlling and reviewing costs that will provide key financial information that may be requested by others.
- Liaise with the Contractor’s Representative and the Lead Project Manager by monitoring the procurement process for effective delivery of the works.
- Identify and co-ordinate resolution of potential and actual problems.
- Interface with Lead Project Manager, Principal Contractor, and site co-ordinator.
- Planning of sequence of activities of various work packages with Lead Project Manager.
- Attend weekly planning and progress meetings with project team and site contractors.
- Ensure the maintenance of the site document control system.
- Enforcing site safety rules and protocols, as necessary.
- Monitor and report on site activities, initiating audits with support from SHEQ specialists, as necessary.
- Attend regular site meetings.
- Witness construction tests as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and protocols.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
- Relevant certifications in construction management or site supervision are preferred.
