We’re currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager on a contract basis to manage the mechanical installation on projects across Newcastle and the surrounding area. This is a site-based role suited to someone who’s confident running mechanical packages and keeping things moving without being micromanaged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day management of mechanical works on site (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, risers)
  • Supervise mechanical subcontractors and direct labour
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to spec
  • Manage RAMS, permits, and site inductions
  • Coordinate with other trades and site management to avoid clashes
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings
  • Carry out quality checks and snagging
  • Report progress, issues, and variations to the Project Manager

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager or Mechanical Supervisor on commercial / industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (SMSTS preferred)
  • CSCS (Gold or Black)
  • Good understanding of H&S and site procedures
  • Able to hit the ground running and manage works independently
