We’re currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager on a contract basis to manage the mechanical installation on projects across Newcastle and the surrounding area. This is a site-based role suited to someone who’s confident running mechanical packages and keeping things moving without being micromanaged.
Key Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day management of mechanical works on site (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, risers)
- Supervise mechanical subcontractors and direct labour
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to spec
- Manage RAMS, permits, and site inductions
- Coordinate with other trades and site management to avoid clashes
- Attend and contribute to site meetings
- Carry out quality checks and snagging
- Report progress, issues, and variations to the Project Manager
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager or Mechanical Supervisor on commercial / industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services
- SMSTS or SSSTS (SMSTS preferred)
- CSCS (Gold or Black)
- Good understanding of H&S and site procedures
- Able to hit the ground running and manage works independently
