Vertical Recruitment are working closely with an award winning global environmental and engineering consultancy. As their business grows and continues to develop, they are looking to strengthen their Building Services team with the appointment of experienced Senior/ Principal Mechanical Engineers in their Manchester office.
Our Client delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors from residential housing developments, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, energy and more! They have an exciting pipeline of work over the next couple of years including a major student accommodation development in Manchester and several school projects!
What you’ll be doing:
This is an exciting role for an individual looking to progress their career as a Principal Mechanical Engineer within our industry leading team where we have an excellent reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in all sectors.
Duties Include:
- Support and lead projects.
- Work alongside the Education Lead.
- Responsible for leading a team of engineers, energy modellers and BIM technicians to deliver projects from concept design to the RIBA Stage 3 draft Contractor Proposal stages.
- Upon successful selection for the project from our client you will manage the project through the Final Contractor Proposal stage and oversee the construction stages.
- Support the development of our design and modelling processes and the associated team through having a deep understanding of the business modelling and BIM requirements to meet the DfE requirements.
To be successful in this role you will most likely be experienced in the following:
- Client engagement through the CEM (Client engagement meeting) process and fast track pace required for these projects.
- Leading several different projects simultaneously.
Additionally, you will:
- Support the (external) architects and the energy modellers in delivering the modelling requirements for the projects, in particular daylight, overheating, and operational energy.
- Liaise with the BIM team to refine deliverables to meet project programs and deliverables.
- Ability to challenge design solutions to achieve the optimum design to meet the Client’s and Project brief.
