Vertical Recruitment are working closely with a successful Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy with offices in Manchester and London. Based in Altrincham, this role will see you contributing to a growing portfolio of logistics and infrastructure projects, supporting the design and delivery of schemes.
As a Civil CAD Technician, you will play a key role in producing high-quality technical drawings and 3D models, supporting engineers and designers through all stages of project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing 2D drawings and 3D models for civil engineering projects using industry-standard software
- Supporting the development of design solutions across logistics and infrastructure schemes
- Assisting in the preparation of plans, sections, and detailed design drawings
- Collaborating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated designs
- Ensuring all drawings and models comply with relevant standards and procedures
- Assisting with the development of drainage designs, with training provided in MicroDrainage if needed
- Participating in project meetings and contributing to technical discussions
- Supporting junior team members where appropriate
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Experience working as a Civil CAD Technician within an engineering consultancy environment
- Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills, ideally using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Exposure to infrastructure or logistics-related projects would be beneficial
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills, particularly in MicroDrainage
- Understanding of industry standards and design processes
- Relevant qualification such as HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or similar
