We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a growing construction consultancy delivering projects across the healthcare, education, commercial, and public sectors.
This role will involve managing multiple concurrent projects, acting as the primary client interface, coordinating consultants and contractors, and taking responsibility for programme, cost, risk, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will enjoy a high degree of autonomy while working closely with clients, estates teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects through all RIBA stages from inception to completion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project programmes and delivery plans.
- Manage procurement activities, tender processes, contractor selection, and appointments.
- Monitor project budgets, risks, and change control procedures.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams and contractors.
- Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reporting.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Administer and manage construction contracts including NEC and JCT forms.
- Support compliance initiatives and quality management processes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business opportunities.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Project Manager within a construction consultancy, client-side, or contractor environment.
- Experience delivering refurbishment, infrastructure, M&E, compliance, or capital works projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of procurement and tendering processes.
- Experience administering NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- Strong planning and programme management skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively manage project risks and issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience
- Healthcare sector experience, particularly NHS environments.
- Education sector experience, including university estates projects.
- Experience working within live operational environments.
- Knowledge of fire safety, compliance, and building remediation projects.
- Experience working on listed or heritage buildings.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Professional membership or progress towards chartership (APM, CIOB, RICS or equivalent).
