Vertical Recruitment are working with a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering engineering, asset management and commercial services across the water, energy and environmental sectors. Due to continued growth across long term frameworks and an increasing workload, they are looking to appoint a Principal or Senior Electrical Engineer to support major water sector programmes.
The Opportunity - This role is suited to an experienced electrical engineer with strong EICA design expertise within the water sector. You will play a key role in technical delivery, design assurance and client engagement, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting the wider growth of the team. The position offers hybrid working, with 2 to 3 days per week based from a client office and site visits as required.
Projects and Sectors:
- Wastewater and sewage treatment
- Water infrastructure and treatment assets
- Feasibility, outline and detailed design
- Long term framework and programme delivery
Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Leading EICA design across feasibility, outline and detailed stages
- Producing and reviewing electrical, instrumentation, control and automation deliverables
- Managing CAD resource and overseeing drawing production
- Undertaking technical reviews and design assurance
- Mentoring and line managing junior engineers
- Supporting fee proposals, resource planning and cost estimates
- Providing client facing technical leadership
- Ensuring commercial, contractual and regulatory compliance
- Supporting the development of standard and bespoke design solutions
- Considering CAPEX and OPEX impacts throughout design
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards
- Strong experience delivering EICA designs within the water sector
- Proven leadership, mentoring and client facing experience
- Commercial and contractual awareness
- Experience producing and reviewing technical reports and calculations
- Knowledge of UK water industry standards and regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment
