An established engineering consultancy is seeking a CAD Manager with some Revit experience to lead the development, management and delivery of CAD and BIM drawing production across a range of building services and engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD professional who enjoys combining technical delivery with team leadership, training and process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining drawing standards, developing workflows and supporting the continued growth of the business.

The Role

You will be responsible for the management and coordination of all CAD systems, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality drawings while supporting and developing the wider design team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all CAD and Revit drawing systems and procedures
  • Leading and coordinating drawing production to meet project deadlines and business priorities
  • Producing high-quality CAD drawings
  • Developing and maintaining drawing standards, templates and procedures
  • Identifying and resolving drawing and coordination issues
  • Working closely with engineers to ensure accurate project delivery
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and other design professionals during meetings and site visits
  • Training and mentoring staff in AutoCAD software
  • Supporting apprentices through regular training reviews and development plans
  • Attending management meetings and contributing to operational improvements
  • Developing standard drawing details and project setup procedures
  • Undertaking site surveys and coordination activities where required
  • Producing project documentation using Microsoft Office applications
  • Maintaining compliance with quality management procedures and accreditation standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a CAD management or senior technician role
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience managing drawing standards, workflows and quality procedures
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing technical staff
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and project teams
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and industry best practice
