Are you a Mechanical Engineering graduate with 1–2 years’ experience in building services? Looking to work on technically challenging, high-value projects?
Our client, a leading Design & Build M&E Contractor, is expanding their team and is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of cutting-edge projects within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced contractor environment, working on complex cleanrooms, laboratories, and highly regulated facilities and high spec offices.
The Role
- Assist in the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, heating/cooling, and public health services
- Support the development of designs for specialist environments such as cleanrooms and controlled spaces
- Produce calculations (heat loss/gain, ventilation, pipe sizing) and technical documentation
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors
- Contribute to coordinated designs in a BIM/Revit environment
- Attend site visits and gain exposure to installation and commissioning phases
- Ensure designs meet industry standards and client specifications
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- Ideally 1–2 years’ experience in a building services or M&E environment (consultancy or contractor)
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical services design
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit (desirable)
- Strong willingness to learn and develop within a contractor setting
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in working on technically complex, regulated environments
