An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing and highly regarded construction and property consultancy in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their Project Management career who wants to gain exposure to high-quality development projects, work directly alongside experienced Project Managers and Directors, and develop within a supportive consultancy environment.
The business works with a strong mix of developers, investors and public-sector clients, delivering projects across a varied portfolio including commercial, residential, regeneration, leisure and mixed-use developments.
The Role
As Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the successful delivery of projects from initial concept and design through procurement, construction and completion.
Working alongside senior members of the team, you'll gradually take on greater responsibility as your experience develops, with plenty of exposure to clients, consultants and contractors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Project Managers and Directors across multiple projects
- Assisting with projects from inception through to completion
- Coordinating architects, engineers and wider consultant teams
- Supporting project programmes, meetings, reporting and documentation
- Assisting with procurement and contractor appointments
- Monitoring project progress, risk and key actions
- Attending client, design and site meetings
- Liaising with contractors and consultants throughout delivery
- Supporting Contract Administration and project governance
- Building strong relationships with clients and project teams
About You
We're looking for someone who is ambitious, personable and keen to develop a career in construction Project Management.
You’ll ideally have:
- Some experience within construction, property or the built environment
- Experience within a consultancy environment would be beneficial
- A relevant degree in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Confidence dealing with different stakeholders
- A proactive approach and willingness to take responsibility
- An interest in working towards a professional qualification such as MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB
- A genuine desire to progress within Project Management
