Vertical Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and growing Chartered Structural and Civil Engineering practice based in Leigh. With over 40 years of combined experience, the team provides expert engineering services across a variety of sectors – from individual domestic properties to large-scale residential developments and commercial projects.
We’re currently looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural CAD Technician to join the team. This is an office-based role in Leigh, supporting the structural engineering team by producing accurate and high-quality technical drawings and models using AutoCAD and related software.
You’ll play a key part in the delivery of projects, ensuring that drawings meet both internal standards and client expectations, while working closely with Engineers to bring their designs to life.
Key Responsibilities- Create and amend 2D and 3D structural drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software
- Collaborate with Structural Engineers to ensure design intent is clearly represented
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure up-to-date documentation is filed accurately
- Assist in developing and updating CAD standards
- Work on a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
- Liaise with internal teams and external consultants as required
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician within a structural or civil engineering environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit or other 3D packages is a bonus)
- Sound understanding of structural detailing and construction methods
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering or CAD design)
