The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing building services consultancy, is seeking Electrical Design Engineers to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, and education via the DfE framework.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical designs from concept through to completion, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical design solutions for building services projects
- Design systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and data/communications
- Produce detailed calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry standards
- Work closely with mechanical engineers, architects, and external stakeholders
- Attend client meetings and contribute to project discussions
- Support project delivery to agreed timelines and budgets
- Undertake site visits and surveys as required
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in electrical design within building services
- Familiar with industry standards and regulations (BS 7671, CIBSE guidance)
- Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical design tools (e.g., Amtech, Dialux/Relux)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
Desirable
- Working towards or holding professional accreditation (IEng/CEng)
- Experience working in a consultancy environment
- Knowledge of sustainable design and renewable technologies (e.g., EV charging, solar PV)
- Experience with BIM processes
