My client is seeking an Associate Director - Mechanical Engineering to lead the delivery of complex projects across sectors including data centres, commercial, advanced manufacturing, and mixed‑use developments.

The business has a strong and growing presence in the global data centre sector, delivering hyperscale and colocation projects internationally. This offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to one of the fastest‑growing and most technically advanced areas of engineering. Data centre experience is not required, but an interest in mission critical and high‑performance environments is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design delivery across all project stages
  • Manage major projects, including hyperscale data centre schemes
  • Act as senior technical lead in client and design team meetings
  • Oversee project performance (commercial, programme, risk, resourcing)
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Support business development and client relationships
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in complex building services projects
  • Knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems, and energy‑efficient design
  • Understanding of sustainability and Net Zero principles
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Data centre experience not essential
