We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major data centre project based in London Docklands. This is a high-value, technically complex scheme requiring a strong background in mechanical building services within mission-critical environments.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical services from design coordination through to commissioning and handover, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all mechanical packages including HVAC, chilled water systems, pipework, plant rooms, and BMS interfaces
  • Take ownership of mechanical delivery from pre-construction through to final commissioning and handover
  • Coordinate with the Principal Contractor, consultants, subcontractors, and client teams
  • Manage programme, budgets, variations, and procurement of mechanical packages
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure quality and productivity
  • Oversee commissioning activities and manage snagging and close-out
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Attend and lead progress meetings and provide accurate reporting to senior management
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within data centres or other critical environments (pharma, hospitals, large commercial)
  • Strong background in mechanical building services
  • Experience managing large-scale M&E packages
  • Excellent knowledge of commissioning processes
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid
  • Mechanical or Building Services qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
Desirable
  • Previous data centre experience
  • Experience working on Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor projects
  • Strong understanding of integrated services delivery
