Our Mission
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The Valo, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky. We won't realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed; instead, we want to 'redefine' aerospace best practices. We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals. Valo is targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2028 ahead of entering service with our airline and operator customers.

- Present clear and structured compliance evidence to support certification activities
- Conduct integration testing to validate system functionality and performance
- Design system architectures that balance performance, complexity, and cost
- Develop and maintain integrated system models to support design decisions and programme delivery
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that advance system capability and innovation
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working with aircraft systems across conventional or unmanned platforms
- Hands-on experience in systems integration within an aerospace or similarly regulated environment
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion
- A strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including ARP4754B
- Knowledge of aerospace certification frameworks, including SC-VTOL
- Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as System Composer or Enterprise Architect
- Background in aircraft or aircraft systems design, with exposure to verification, validation, or certification activities
