Surrey (Office-based) £29,000 – £30,500 basic salary Monday–Friday | 07:30–16:30 (1-hour lunch) 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays (with length of service bonus)
We’re working with a well-established FMCG food importer, growing rapidly across the UK and Ireland, who are looking to add an Import & Supply Chain Coordinator to their expanding supply chain team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in managing the end-to-end import process, working closely with overseas suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure products arrive on time and in full.
Responsibilities:- Managing end-to-end purchase order processing, from demand planning through to UK and Irish port clearance
- Communicating with overseas suppliers to confirm production readiness and shipping schedules
- Tracking shipments and providing regular updates to internal planning teams
- Managing and checking all import documentation, licences, and certificates for customs clearance
- Liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and hauliers
- Coordinating inbound deliveries to on-site and third-party warehouses
- Booking goods into internal systems and supporting rework orders where needed
- Working closely with Finance to ensure timely invoice processing
- Supporting month-end reporting and KPIs across the supply chain function
You’ll be joining a supportive team environment where collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement are key.
Requirements:- Degree-qualified in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- At least 1 year’s experience in shipping or import operations, including customs documentation
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with good written and verbal skills
- Comfortable working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience working with freight forwarders and logistics providers is a plus
- Basic bookkeeping or finance exposure is beneficial
