Vertical has partnered with a leading FMCG business in the food sector, who are recruiting for a Sourcing Assistant. As the sourcing assistant, you will be importing documentation and maintaining strong communication across both internal teams and external suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity to move into the procurement space, with real scope to develop, grow, and expand your knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase Order Management: Raise and amend POs accurately and promptly; administer and track loading advices to ensure all information is up to date.
- Supplier & Logistics Coordination: Monitor daily and weekly inbound arrivals; proactively communicate any variances or risks to internal stakeholders.
- Import Documentation: Gather, verify, and challenge import documentation to ensure compliance; participate in training to develop expertise in import processes.
- Supplier Sourcing & Approval: Coordinate supplier sourcing activities and manage the approval process; collaborate with Technical, Quality, and Finance teams to maintain up-to-date supplier records.
- Supplier Performance Reporting: Maintain weekly supplier performance reports; prepare monthly performance summaries for the Procurement Team.
- Inventory & Sample Management: Monitor stock levels and flag potential shortages or surpluses; coordinate and track sample requests to ensure timely delivery.
About You:
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
- Previous experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain operations is advantageous.
- Proficient in SAP.
- Experienced in handling import documentation.
- Skilled in managing and maintaining stock levels.
