The Business

Our client is one of the UK’s fastest-growing wellness brands, operating at the forefront of innovation across two key verticals. With a focus on clean, sustainable alternatives and a bold, quality-driven approach, they are redefining how consumers engage with wellness and scent.

This is a brand with purpose, driven by values of ownership, excellence, and long-term impact.

The Role – Sales Director (Retail Expansion)

We're currently partnering with this high-growth brand to appoint a Sales Director to lead and scale their retail footprint across both the UK and international markets. This is a high-impact, senior-level opportunity for a commercially-minded leader to shape retail strategy, drive key partnerships, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.

You’ll be instrumental in taking this brand’s retail presence to the next level—from strategy development and partner negotiations to long-term account growth and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic retail sales plan to accelerate growth and brand visibility.
  • Identify key retail opportunities across national chains, independents, and specialist retailers.
  • Build and manage distributor relationships in priority markets.
  • Define pricing, promotional, and distribution strategies to support commercial goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership on market entry and growth plans in both domestic and international regions.

Business Development & Account Management

  • Pitch and secure listings with major UK and international retail partners.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with buyers and distributors.
  • Lead on merchandising and in-store positioning to maximise brand presence.
  • Manage the full sales life-cycle, from lead generation to on-boarding and long-term account development.
  • Own and exceed revenue targets across the retail channel.
  • Monitor performance, sell-through, and inventory, working closely with operations.
  • Analyse data and trends to identify opportunities and optimise strategy.
  • Define and track KPIs to ensure consistent and scalable growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing to support retail campaigns, POS, and in-store activations.
  • Work closely with supply chain to ensure product availability and partner satisfaction.
  • Act as a strategic link between commercial, operations, and brand functions.

Requirements:

  • Strong track record in retail sales leadership, ideally within FMCG, consumer goods, or sustainability-led brands.
  • Experience scaling retail from early-stage or high-growth environments.
  • Strong commercial mindset with both strategic and hands-on capabilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven, analytical, and results-oriented.
  • Passionate about sustainability and delivering purpose-led growth.
