A leading consumer goods business is looking for an experienced Marketing Data & Automation Lead to join its digital function and play a key role in shaping the future of its marketing technology and digital capability strategy. Operating within a fast-paced, innovation-led environment, this role will focus on driving digital transformation across a portfolio of household brands, enabling marketing teams to deliver best-in-class consumer engagement and data-driven performance.
Location: Hybrid working with 2–3 days per week in a Surrey-based office.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Digital, you will lead the strategic planning, integration and implementation of the organisation’s digital marketing technology roadmap. Acting as both Project Manager and Product Owner across key initiatives, you will partner with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver scalable digital solutions and support ambitious growth plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the digital marketing technology roadmap to enhance marketing capability and performance
- Managing and delivering key digital transformation and marketing technology projects
- Acting as Technical Product Owner for websites and digital platforms
- Supporting initiatives across customer data platforms (CDPs), CRM, D2C and website development
- Collaborating with marketing, IT, analytics and external agency partners
- Ensuring compliance across consumer data, GDPR and digital security standards
- Managing third-party vendors and agency relationships
- Supporting the development of reporting frameworks, dashboards and performance measurement tools
- Driving integration and consolidation of consumer data feeds to support CRM and eCommerce strategies
- Translating technical data and analytics into actionable commercial insights
- Keeping up to date with evolving digital technologies and identifying opportunities for innovation
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience within digital marketing technology, data or digital operations roles
- Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem including websites, CRM, analytics, search and content platforms
- Experience managing complex, multi-channel digital projects
- Strong stakeholder management across internal teams and external partners
- Knowledge of analytics and marketing technology platforms such as Google Analytics, GTM and Search Console
- Experience with project delivery methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
- Technical understanding of web development, CMS platforms and basic HTML/CSS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to turn data into actionable insight
- Experience managing budgets and third-party suppliers
- Confident communicator able to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with ambiguity and change
