Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to carry out planned maintenance, reactive repairs, fault-finding, installation, and compliance work across commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have strong building services knowledge and hold all required commercial gas certifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned & Reactive Maintenance
  • Service, maintain, and repair commercial gas appliances and systems, including:
  • Commercial boilers
  • Burners
  • Warm air units
  • Radiant tube heaters
  • Gas pipework systems
  • Diagnose faults and perform efficient, safe repairs.
  • Required Qualifications

    Mandatory Commercial Gas Qualifications (ACS)

    Candidates must hold valid ACS certifications for commercial gas work, typically including:

    • Core & Safety
    • COCN1 or CODNCO1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety
  • Commercial Appliances
    • CIGA1 – Indirect Fired Heating Appliances
    • CORT1 – Direct Fired Heating Appliances
    • CDGA1 – Direct Fired Commercial Laundry Appliances (if relevant)
    • ICPN1 – Installation of Commercial Pipework
    • TPCP1 / TPCP1A – Testing & Purging (Commercial)

    Desirable (but not essential) Additional Qualifications

    • CCN1 – Domestic Gas (useful for mixed portfolio work)
    • MET1 – Gas Metering
    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating / Mechanical Engineering
    • F-Gas 2079 (Refrigeration & AC)
    • Commercial Catering or Laundry ACS (if working in those environments)
    • Unvented Hot Water (G3)

    Experience Required

    • Proven experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer in FM, building services, or mechanical contracting.
    • Strong understanding of commercial plant rooms and wider HVAC systems.
    • Confident in fault-finding on commercial boilers and gas controls.
    • Able to work independently and manage own workload.
