About the company

Our client is a small but highly capable software studio that helps founders turn strong ideas into scalable SaaS products. They partner with early-stage startups across various industries, providing the technical expertise to build products that get to market quickly and perform reliably. Alongside their client work, they’ve developed internal platforms that streamline delivery - including tools with built-in CMS, CRM, payments, and AI components. These internal systems power their mission to reduce time to market for every new SaaS customer they partner with.

The opportunity

They’re now looking to hire their first full-time developer, joining a close-knit (and to date, mainly part-time) team led by a technically hands-on CEO/CTO. The position is a backend-leaning, Full Stack Developer (rather than the other way around). It’s a key role for someone who wants to take ownership, influence direction, and grow within a business that’s growing steadily and sustainably.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain full-stack web apps using Node.js and React
  • Integrate Stripe (or similar) for payments and manage secure authentication (JWTs)
  • Contribute to shared APIs and services powering multiple SaaS applications
  • Prototype, iterate, and deliver high-quality, user-friendly software
  • Occasionally support mobile builds (React Native or Flutter experience a plus)

Must have experience:

  • 3+ years’ commercial web development experience
  • Strong technical skills across Node.js, React and Redux
  • Hands-on experience with Stripe, MangoPay, or similar payment gateways
  • Solid understanding of authentication workflows (JWT or similar)
  • Mongoose or similar ORM for MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases)
  • Component or utility-based UI libraries (MUI preferable)
  • REST API design and implementation best practices
  • Clear communicator with a product-focused mindset
  • Proven ability to work independently remotely, as well as part of a wider, geographically dispersed team

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to AWS Serverless or similar cloud environments
  • Experience with Flutter, React Native, AI/ML integrations, or low-code / developer productivity tools
  • An eye for appealing designs and a portfolio or Github that you can talk through
  • Previous work in startup or SaaS product environment(s)
  • A degree in Computer Science or other STEM subject
