In this role you will perform sophisticated statistical analyses across post-marketing and real-world data projects, acting as the statistics lead on assigned initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape study design, analysis plans, and dissemination of results, contributing to regulatory, payer, and healthcare decision-making. You will present findings in SRF and lead statistical guidance for complex issues with limited supervision. This position offers impact across clinical trials, observational studies, and real-world evidence activities within Vertex’s Global Medicines Development and Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Own statistical work for clinical trials and observational studies or real-world data investigations.
- Develop design and analysis plans, including SAPs and TFLs, and author study documents such as Data Dissemination Plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide expert statistical input to project teams.
- Contribute to clinical study reports and related publications and posters.
- Present findings to SRF and participate in senior review boards.
- Possibly oversee one or more project components and provide strategic direction.
- Engage with regulators, payers, and other external stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality TFLs with statistical programming teams.
Key requirements
- Ph.D. in Biostatistics or related fields with 7 years of relevant experience or MS in Biostatistics or related fields with 10 years of experience.
- Proficiency in SAS and R.
- Advanced statistical methods knowledge and drug development experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, and to guide non-statisticians.
- Experience with study design, sample size estimation, and randomization planning.
- Experience contributing to study reports and peer-reviewed publications.
