We currently have seven commercial products and a robust pipeline of new products in various stages of clinical development. With this exciting growth, Vertex is seeking an Packaging and Labeling Manager to manage artwork development through implementation at the packaging site. This position will manage Vertex's internal artwork change controls to meet manufacturing deadlines, interacting with internal and external stakeholders across the globe. The candidate will be a leader, with broad awareness of best global practices within pharmaceutical artwork development.
Strong professionalism and communication skills are critical. Managing all artwork development activities (brief approval, artwork preparation, and proofreading, etc.) for new products and updates to current product artwork with minimal supervision, this role will compile requirements from internal stakeholders and manage day to day activities of external graphics providers and printers to meet stakeholder expectations. Key Responsibilities: Control artwork changes from initiation through implementation through formalized systems and processes including artwork change controls and artwork management system approvalsCreate and update artwork Bill of Materials for internal quality disposition of commercial productsCoordinate with Regulatory Labeling, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Science & Technology, QA, etc.
to ensure commercial artwork is created per stakeholder requirementsManage artwork change controls from the point of stakeholder assessments to implementation at the siteEnsure that change control processes are followed in order to maintain accuracy of changes during versioning of documentsPartner with external graphics agencies to ensure Vertex artwork is developed on time with best in class qualitySupport the creation and review of SOPs and training materialsSupport training global internal and external users in the artwork process and management systemArtwork Management System administrative supportAbility to manage multiple high-priority projects concurrentlyTakes full responsibility within scope of the position to work with various stakeholders (such as Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Science & Technology, Regulatory, Graphics agency, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may negatively impact project timelines or deliverables Key Requirements: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experienceRelevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry in a similar role , including relevant artwork, regulatory, technical writing, or copy editing experienceAbility to complete goals within allotted timeframes and deliver high quality resultsStrong initiative and ability to identify issues and develop solutionsAbility to use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word)Strong interpersonal and relationship skillsExperience with an Artwork Management SystemProduct launch experienceDemonstrated attention to detail.
