Location: City of London - Hybrid (2 days in the office/3 days remote)
The client is a subsidiary of a major international IT company with around 12,000 employees and a 400-year history. The company supports the group’s businesses across the EMEA & CIS regions, operating in over 50 offices and serving more than 1,000 users. Its London office has approximately 130 staff and contractors.
The Financial Accounting Manager will be responsible for:
- Financial reporting, tax filings (VAT and corporate tax), cashflow management, oversight of daily transactions, internal controls, audit coordination, process improvement, and team management for both the UK headquarters and the German branch.
- Management responsibility of both the Financial Accounting team (4 members) and Project Administration team (5 members).
- Overseeing the daily activities for the UK headquarters and German branch of the Financial Accounting team, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring data security.
- Developing accounting policies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and implementing procedures with SAP S/4HANA to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Improving order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes and monthly and year-end closing processes, as well as updating the operation manual after consultations with the Corporate Manager and Project Administration team.
- Preparing, reviewing, and analysing financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Calculating and filing corporate tax returns for the UK headquarters and German branch with a professional firm.
- Managing all aspects of the audit process.
- Supervising, training, and mentoring all members of the Financial Accounting team.
- Delegating weekly, daily, and monthly tasks to all members of the Financial Accounting team.
- Responding to ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Corporate Manager/business department Managers.
- Overall responsibility for the Financial Accounting Team tasks and duties.
Skills & Knowledge essential for the role:
- Must be fully ACCA qualified with strong experience in an accounting management position.
- Must be confident in managing and delegating to a team.
- Must have experience managing a dual team, ideally with one remote team.
- Proficiency in financial systems (specifically SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with various stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, and non-finance departments.
- Must possess excellent prioritisation skills and ability to work in accordance with deadlines.
- Experience as an Accounting Manager in a small to mid-size company, handling overall accounting and tax functions.
