Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering with a longstanding client who is a leader in the travel sector, in hiring an IT Application Support Technician on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid position consisting of 3 days per week in the office which are alternated.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced (Tier 2/3) support to diagnose and resolve application and system issues across the organisation, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining high user productivity.
  • Respond to incident tickets, analyse problems, and implement fixes or workarounds in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools (using PowerShell and Python) to streamline routine tasks, deployments, and data processing, thereby reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.
  • Administer and manage the Microsoft Intune environment for enterprise device and application management – provisioning devices, configuring and deploying applications/updates, enforcing security policies, and ensuring compliance across all endpoints.
  • Ensure seamless integration with travel platforms and Global Distribution Systems (e.g. Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo) by leveraging their APIs.
  • Monitor data exchanges, validate transaction data (such as booking feeds), and troubleshoot any interface or connectivity issues in collaboration with vendors or development teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional IT teams (developers, infrastructure, security) and external partners on deploying new features or upgrades, and resolving complex issues.
  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and incident resolutions thoroughly, maintaining an updated knowledge base for the IT team.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in IT application support, systems administration, or a similar technical role at the enterprise level (mid-level position).
  • Expertise in scripting and automation – especially with PowerShell (for Windows environment automation), and proficiency in Python programming for developing internal tools or integration scripts.
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain complex scripts to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Intune in a production environment, including device enrolment, policy configuration, software distribution, and troubleshooting of MDM issues. Familiarity with related Microsoft 365 Endpoint Manager components and Azure AD is expected.
  • Solid understanding of Windows-based systems and networks, and comfortable working with Microsoft server technologies, Active Directory, and RESTful APIs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a talent for troubleshooting complex issues across multiple layers (application, database, network).
