Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering exclusively with one of the UK's leading FMCG businesses in their search for a new Group Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will support the Group Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The role is primarily focused on financial reporting and control, with limited commercial ownership and no direct board exposure.

Duties

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Produce detailed P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform variance analysis with clear, concise commentary for internal review
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls and processes
  • Support year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
  • Support the Group Financial Controller in the annual budgeting process
  • Assist with the preparation of forecasts based on inputs provided by senior stakeholders
  • Maintain supporting models and ensure data integrity
  • Track performance against budget and flag key variances
  • Provide financial analysis to support decision-making when required
  • Prepare reports on store-level and cost performance
  • Support, but not lead, commercial initiatives or decision-making processes
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data used by stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PowerQuery, financial modelling)
  • Experience in Manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or multi-site environments
  • Strong attention to detail and a controls-focused mindset
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Exposure to Power BI or other reporting tools
  • Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting
  • Knowledge of IFRS
