Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering with an international private education business. They are looking for a Group Reporting Accountant to join their team. This is an onsite role 5 days a week based in North West London.
The Group Reporting Accountant will support the Group Reporting Manager and wider Group Reporting team in delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely group consolidated financial reporting. The role will play a key part in strengthening group reporting processes, embedding consistent controls across entities, supporting integration of acquisitions, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Group Reporting & Consolidation
- Support the Group Reporting Manager and Group Reporting team across a range of reporting activities and projects to enhance the quality of group consolidated financial reports and associated controls.
- Assist to coordinate and manage the monthly reporting and trial balance upload process for newly acquired entities and entities in transition, supporting the integration and standardisation of month-end reporting in line with group standards.
- Assist with the group intercompany reconciliation process to ensure all intercompany transactions are accurately eliminated and group figures are correct.
- Work closely with local finance teams to ensure error accounts and technical accounts are reviewed, resolved, and kept as clean as possible.
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Support the implementation of new group consolidation systems, including validating the quality and accuracy of data migration.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of group reporting processes, systems, and controls.
- Assist with coordination with entity owners and Finance Business Partners (FBPs) in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and management reports for group and subsidiary companies.
- Help to review underlying accounting records and support the Group Reporting Manager in ensuring they are maintained to audit standard, highlighting any risks of non-compliance as appropriate.
- Help to work with entity owners to help maintain a robust financial control environment, including strong balance sheet management and review processes.
- Assist in reviewing local entity financial performance and support the preparation of monthly Board commentary on overall group performance.
- Planning, Audit & Compliance
- Assist with the preparation of group consolidated forecasts and the annual budget, including analysis and explanations of variances.
- Support the annual group audit process.
- Assist in liaising with external advisors on UK and international tax compliance matters.
- Ad Hoc & Strategic Support
- Provide support on group business development and M&A-related activities as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Group Reporting Manager and wider finance team to ensure seamless operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Newly qualified, finalist or part-qualified
- Open to practice or industry background
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with different countries/cultures
- Exposure to consolidations and intercompanies would be beneficial
- A proactive self-starter who uses their initiative
