FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT ROLE
About the Company
Vertex Associates are working on a retained and exclusive basis with a leading organisation within the entertainment industry to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their established finance team. Our client is a well-known and growing organisation operating across the live entertainment sector. You will be joining an experienced finance function of approximately 18 people, working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
About the Role
The Financial Accountant will support the Senior Financial Accountant and play an important role in maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring the accuracy of the organisation's financial reporting. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and will include reviewing work completed by Accounts Assistants, preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies and supporting the wider month-end and year-end processes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing Accounts Assistants' balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Month-end balance sheet reporting
- Reviewing debtors and investigating outstanding balances
- Reviewing payment runs
- Supporting VAT processes and controls
- Implementing SOX compliance measures and reviewing existing procedures
- Supporting the Senior Financial Accountant with year-end audit files
- Identifying, investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc analysis and projects
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified/finalist, or qualified by experience
Required Skills
- Experienced in balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident reviewing and investigating financial information
- Comfortable working independently and using your own initiative
- A strong communicator and collaborative team player
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
Preferred Skills
- Experience of SOX controls, Oracle and VAT would be advantageous but is not essential.
