Paint Line Supervisor – Powder Coating Oldham | £45,000–£50,000 | Permanent, full-time Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:30; Friday 07:00–15:30 VERTEER is recruiting a Paint Line Supervisor for an established manufacturing business in Oldham. Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will supervise a team and take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the powder-coating operation. This role requires practical powder-coating knowledge alongside experience operating or supervising automated or robotic production equipment. You will combine technical understanding with confident, fair leadership to deliver consistent quality and reliable production. The role Lead and organise a team setting clear priorities and expectations. Supervise automated powder-coating equipment and associated manual activities. Manage performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People. Identify coating defects and process issues, coordinating corrective action and escalating problems where necessary. Train and develop operators, ensuring agreed working methods are understood and followed. Work with the Continuous Improvement Manager to implement and sustain standard operating procedures, training matrices and visual management. Maintain safe working practices, housekeeping and production standards. Communicate effectively with shop-floor colleagues and senior management. What you'll bring Essential: Practical experience of powder coating and a sound understanding of the factors affecting finish quality. Experience operating or supervising automated or robotic production equipment, ideally within powder coating. Experience leading people in a manufacturing environment. The ability to establish credibility with experienced operators and support the introduction of improved working methods. A confident, consistent approach to managing people and resolving production problems. Desirable: Knowledge of 5S, SQDCP, visual management and continuous improvement.
