Engineering Site Manager
to take ownership of the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering work across multiple customer sites. This is a management-focused position, ideally suited to someone who understands industrial engineering environments but whose strengths lie in organising people, planning work, managing contractors and ensuring jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and professionally. The Role You'll be the central point of coordination for site-based engineering activities, working closely with customers, engineers, subcontractors and the internal workshop team. Your responsibilities will include: Planning, scheduling and coordinating engineering activities across multiple customer sites. Visiting customer facilities to assess requirements, scope work and establish delivery plans. Organising engineers, subcontractors, materials, equipment and specialist resources. Preparing and coordinating RAMS and ensuring appropriate site safety arrangements are in place. Managing multiple ongoing jobs, monitoring progress and resolving operational issues. Coordinating workshop support, including machining, fabrication and welding requirements. Maintaining clear communication with customers and internal management regarding schedules, resources and job progress. Ensuring work is properly organised, delivered to the required standards and completed efficiently. About You We're looking for someone who can bring structure, organisation and accountability to a busy site engineering operation. Ideally, you'll offer: Proven experience managing engineering, industrial maintenance, mechanical installation or similar site-based activities. Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills. Experience coordinating engineers, subcontractors and external suppliers. A practical understanding of industrial engineering work, including mechanical maintenance, fabrication or machinery installations. Knowledge of RAMS and safe working practices on operational industrial sites. Confidence dealing directly with customers, assessing requirements and managing expectations. The ability to manage several jobs simultaneously without losing control of resources, communication or deadlines. Experience supporting customers within food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, laboratory or other industrial manufacturing environments would be advantageous. You don't need to be a hands-on engineer.
Technical understanding is important, but your ability to manage work, people and customer relationships is what really matters. The Opportunity This is an opportunity to take responsibility for an established programme of customer-site engineering activities and help develop a more structured, efficient and well-coordinated operation. You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on how site work is planned, resourced and delivered, while supporting the continued development of the engineering services team. Salary:
Β£55,000βΒ£60,000, dependent on experience. For a confidential discussion, apply through VERTEER Consulting, specialists in engineering, manufacturing and operational recruitment.
