I am working on behalf of four different clients within mainland Europe with similar needs on a variety of sites including Frankfurt, Hamburg, Lisbon, Germany and Finland. Our primary client is a leading provider of Data Centre and ICT infrastructure solutions, delivering complex, large-scale projects for some of the world's most demanding and mission-critical environments. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven project delivery professional who can combine strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to drive successful project outcomes across multiple locations, workstreams, and client programmes.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Divisional Director, the Senior Project Manager will be accountable for the delivery performance and overall budget position of assigned projects, locations, or scopes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction. Working closely with the Operations Manager, who assigns operational resources across the business, you will provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, and Site Supervisors to ensure efficient project execution and the achievement of key commercial and operational objectives. This role requires a highly capable leader with strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within Data Centre, ICT, or related construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects, programmes, or major campus workstreams, ensuring all contractual, commercial, operational, and client requirements are met.
  • Take ownership of project budgets and commercial performance across a portfolio of projects, including forecasting, cost control, financial reporting, and profitability.
  • Provide oversight, mentorship, and challenge to Project Managers and delivery teams, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to project management best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive effective project governance, controls, reporting, risk management, and performance monitoring to support successful project delivery.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and opportunities, implementing strategies to mitigate challenges and improve outcomes.
  • Lead recovery initiatives for underperforming or challenged projects, restoring programme performance and client confidence.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and supported throughout delivery.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all projects.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have significant experience delivering multiple concurrent projects, multiple scopes, or major campus workstreams within a Data Centre, ICT infrastructure, or construction environment. You will have demonstrated ownership of budgets and commercial performance at portfolio level, including responsibility for consolidated reporting and financial oversight. A strong background in leading, supporting, and developing Project Managers and wider delivery teams is essential, alongside the ability to influence and engage effectively with senior stakeholders and clients. You will possess a proven track record of recovering struggling projects and implementing solutions that improve delivery performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. A comprehensive understanding of project controls, governance frameworks, programme reporting, and risk management disciplines is required, together with strong commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills. Candidates should have strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
