Trainee Quantity Surveyor - Milton Keynes
Our client is seeking an ambitious and motivated Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in quantity surveying and commercial management within the construction industry.
Applications are welcomed from a variety of backgrounds, including recent graduates with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business or a related discipline, Commercial Assistants looking to take the next step in their career, Construction Administrators seeking to move into a commercial role, or individuals with experience working within a construction, engineering or property environment who possess strong organisational and numerical skills.
The successful candidate will receive full training and support, working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and gaining exposure to a wide range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of valuations, applications and final accounts.
- Supporting the commercial team with cost reporting and budget management.
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement and administration.
- Preparing and maintaining project cost records and documentation.
- Supporting tendering and estimating activities.
- Liaising with site teams, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
- Attending site visits and project meetings where required.
- Developing an understanding of contracts, commercial procedures and cost control.
About You
- Keen to build a career within Quantity Surveying and commercial management.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, motivated and willing to learn.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in a Commercial Assistant, Construction Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Project Administrator or similar role within the construction sector would be advantageous.
A relevant degree or qualification is desirable but not essential.
